Forbes has a good article online, what kind of actions/campaigns you can run on twitter to reach new customers, sell something or self-market your expertise.

As you can see, there is a big variety of actions you can take. And there is no wrong or right. At the end, you have to test out, what works best for your buisness and the goals you want to achieve. There is no “out-of-the-box-big-success-campaign”. Use your imagination and try something new.
